Introduing....My 'Man-Friend'. His name is Rowland, 'aka. Rollie'. Ally prefers 'Rollie Pollie'. My Bishop at church encouraged me to go join one of those meet and greet LDS dating websites and set up a profile. I was not for that at all. But...I did it, and Rol found me in December 2006. We started chatting every Sunday evening on instant messenger, and then we started talking on the phone 4 months later. We decided to meet in Sept. but I got cold feet and cancelled. Finally I was ok with him coming out to visit 1 year after we started talking as friends. He flew out from Idaho and stayed in Texas for about 1 week. San Antonio's 'Winter' was a big change for him. We visited the Alamo, went to have Pancakes with Santa and took the girls, and introduced him to the fam. Rol is a very patient and understanding person. His mother was widowed about 1 year before I was, so he knows first hand what I was going through. Rollie was a deputy for their local Sheriff's department out in Idaho. He also volunteered as an EMT once a week to help out. He likes hunting, fishing, the outdoors, and ME!! He is LDS just like I am, and he served his mission for our church out in Iowa. No..he's never been married, no kids, no strings. I'm in no rush whatsoever to move on, and I'm just taking baby steps. Counseling has sure helped me to transition back into dating, and we'll have to see what happens. We decided to remain friends and made plans to meet up again in 2008.
